Real Madrid have played eight games away from home in La Liga during the present campaign. Six have been at six of the toughest stadiums in Spain: El Madrigal, the Sanchez Pizjuan, the Vicente Calderon, Camp Nou, Mestalla and the Reyno de Navarra. On Saturday, the Whites will visit San Mames, one of the toughest of them all. The match against Athletic Bilbao will be their last away clash in the first leg of the championship. 
The Whites won 2-0 at El Madrigal against Villarreal early this season with goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka.
Their next stop was the Sanchez Pizjuan, where they earned their first defeat in the present campaign against Sevilla. Four weeks later came the Madrid derby against Atletico at the Vicente Calderon, a complicated venue where the Madridistas haven't lost since the 1998/99 season. Goals by Marcelo, Kaka and Higuain gave Real Madrid a 3-2 victory in 2009.
Matchday 12 witnessed the Clasico at Camp Nou. The Madridistas played a great game, but ended up losing 1-0 to eternal foe Barcelona.
Real Madrid faced Valencia at Mestalla at the end of 2009 and won 3-2. The match was followed two weeks later by a clash at Reyno de Navarra Stadium against Osasuna that ended in a 0-0 draw.
The one legendary tough stadium remaining for Real Madrid is San Mames, where they have earned 26 victories and 16 draws throughout their history.
The Whites have also played against Espanyol and Sporting Gijon away from home this season, defeating the former 3-0 and drawing 0-0 against the latter. All the aforementioned opponents have yet to play at the Bernabeu in the second leg, where Real Madrid currently stand undefeated in La Liga.
